Mia Elise Monroe
Mia is here! After 40 hours of labor (mom is still recovering), Mia FINALLY decided to join us! She was born at UNC Hospitals on Wednesday, July 15, 2009 at 9:10 PM. She weighs 8lb, 15oz and is 21 inches long. We, of course, think she is amazing and beautiful and are already totally in love with her. Here are some of her first pictures (more to come in a few days):

I love her too! You two are so cute and are going to be awesome parents. I always knew you two would have beautiful children- here's the proof.
Way to go Sarah on the delivery- you're a champ. And you can make her feel bad about it for the rest of her life :).

Congrats guys - she is beautiful. We can't wait to meet her (and neither can Gabe - we found out in Seattle that he loves staring at other babies)!!

Oh my goodness!!! I love her! I can't wait to meet her. Can't wait! It'll be fun to compare pictures of her to pictures of you guys. She's gorgeous and I'm so excited to watch her grow up. This is so exciting! Love you guys!

40 hours of labor!? I mean I've had 40 hours of post-Mexican vacation abdominal pain, but fish tacos can't kick - so really I can only vaguely imagine the discomfort you went through.
Kudos to your awesome new H.sapiens youngling!
The next time I sing "I believe the children are our future" I will dedicate it to Mia.
